New plan for the uninsured in Michigan begins May 1

The state of Michigan is trying again to encourage more people with chronic diseases and without health insurance to participate in its high-risk insurance pool.  A new program begins May 1 that provides lower premiums but higher deductibles.  The lowest monthly rate? For those 1-18, $103.85, with a $3500 deductible.
