Healing totem journey

The National Library of Medicine (NLM) has created a blog to record the journey of a healing totem that was created in Washington state to its installation site in front of NLM.  The totem will be part of a new exhibition, opening October 6, Native Voices: Native Peoples’ Concepts of Health and Illness. The exhibition will look at ideas of health and medicine among contemporary American Indians, Alaska Natives, and Native Hawai’ians.

The totem begins its cross-country journey September 12.
