HIV among youth Twitter chat – 12/4

From the CDC:

Join CDC Director, Dr. Tom Frieden for a live Twitter chat about CDC’s new Vital Signs issue on HIV among Youth in the United States. This new report shows that 1 in 4 new HIV infections occur in youth, ages 13-24 years.  Because many young people are not being tested, they can unknowingly pass the virus on to others.

Dr. Frieden will be joined by CDC experts Dr. Jonathan Mermin, Director of CDC’s Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention, and Dr. Howell Wechsler, Director of CDC’s Division of Adolescent and School Health to answer your questions and discuss the role of parents, schools, community-based organizations, health care providers and the web in ensuring youth receive prevention education, HIV testing, and care.

    • Date:  December 4
    • Time:  3-4:00 EST

Follow Dr. Frieden on Twitter @DrFriedenCDC and use the hashtag #CDCchat to participate.
